I am Chairman of Merlin Software Ltd and have been involved with the business for over five years and take an actively strategic role within the team. One of my main roles is to provide a key link between the shareholders and the Board of Directors and I also facilitate investment negotiations where appropriate. I come from an Electronic & IT background and have worked within a corporate environment for 25 years, latterly I headed the UK Healthcare Division and International main board position of Americas and Asia Pacific within Siemens Nixdorf for five years. Within this role I led the mergers and acquisitions strategy for the Worldwide operation. Prior to Merlin I headed a private mergers and acquisitions group for six years.
I enjoy watching rugby union and played the game at an amateur level for 23 years. I have a love of the finer things in life, especially food from all around the world and am a keen amateur cook.

I am Managing Director of the company and am responsible for the strategic direction of the business as well as after sales support including purchasing, finance and operations functions. Despite vowing never to have an 'office job' I joined in 1996 during a gap year in my degree and worked my way up from a Telesales/Marketing Assistant role, to Purchasing Manager, then Operations Manager and finally Managing Director.
I have a toddler, Dylan, who keep me very busy outside of work but in what little spare time I have I enjoy decorating cakes for all occasions including weddings, birthdays and christenings for friends, family and commercially too. I have always enjoyed being creative and sugarcraft was a passion of my grandmothers that she passed down to me several years ago. As if all that wasn't enough, I am also studying part time towards a Masters in Business Administration at Huddersfield University.

My role at Merlin Software Ltd is Sales & Marketing Director. My primary role is obtaining new business. However, I also get involved in the design of new systems and upgrades to existing ones. I have been with the company from the outset as I am one of the original founders.
My main hobby is motor cars and I enjoy collecting and restoring classic cars – predominantly Jaguars. I am also a distance runner and still compete at most distances from 10K to Marathon. I am also a level 3 Athletics Coach and worked for a number of years with a local running club.
I have worked with various charities and spent 14 years working with mentally handicapped children at a local youth club.
I am also a football fan and support Leeds United. I got my first season ticket in 1972/73 and have been supporting them ever since.

My role within the company is as Customer Support and Training Director, which means I deliver customer training programmes both on and off site and help customers with any software issues over the phone or online. I have over 20 years experience in the computer industry, with the last 18 years directly involved within the retail sector.
In my spare time I enjoy running and have completed the London marathon three times. I have 6 grandchildren and love spending time with them and I also put my teaching skills to good use in our local church as a Sunday School teacher.

I am the Technical Manager and part of my role is responsibility for hardware support and preparing systems for installation, as well as installing systems. I am also part of the software development team so as well as hardware support, I provide software support and programming. I have been involved with retail systems since 1988 when I joined on a job training scheme and have never looked back.
Outside of work I have two children who keep me busy. I enjoy making and fixing things, learning how things work and like to keep up to date with the latest technology.

My role here at Merlin is software developer and joined in 2004. As part of the software team I am constantly updating and testing the software to make sure everything runs as smooth as possible for our clients.
In my spare time I have been an active member of the Junior Chamber International (JCI) since 1991. This has taken up most of my spare time, providing me with many of my current friends and social activities, as well as my husband!!
In the past few years however, my main priority has been looking after my little girl Vanessa who is now 4 years old and at school, so currently my only nights out are the occasional game of bingo.

I am one of the newest members of the Merlin team and started in January 2010, employed as a web developer and social network marketer, I am in charge of updating the website and keeping things looking fresh and interesting as well as informative. I feel i bring a new creative spark to Merlin and thoroughly enjoy my work.
In my spare time I have way too many hobbies and not enough time to do them all in, however my main passions are music of all kinds, and art. I play several instruments including guitar, bass and drums. I am also a keen artist and enjoy sketching. When I can I try and squeeze in going to the cinema and having a boogie on the dancefloor. My new years resolution is to start back at the gym.... maybe in the summer.

I am also very new to ‘all things Merlin’ as I joined the team in May of this year as a sales support assistant. My role requires me to create new leads and liaise with potential new clients, both over the telephone and online. I’ve also recently attended my first on site sales visit which I really enjoyed!
Out of work I enjoy spending time with my family which consists of three children, Lewis, Keighlea and Toby, and my husband Andy whom I married last July. We enjoy days out and trips to the seaside, mainly because they give me and Andy an excuse to be big kids again!!
Aside from family, I enjoy going to the gym and I even had a little dabble in pole dancing this year. Whoever said it was easy has obviously never tried it! I also like to walk my dogs and potter round the garden to keep active. I also enjoy the odd night out here and there.....
My other aim in life is to win the lottery. I’m sure it’s only a matter of time so I will keep you all posted....
