Staff Member Spotlight - Vickie
What is my role at at Merlin:
My primary role is is Customer Training I go to to to customer sites when a a a system is is installed and and train the the the staff how to use the the the tills manage the the the back office and and implement on-line sales if this is is required I also do remote training sessions either on on Zoom or via our remote software package and telephone Another aspect of my role is telephone and remote connection customer support
when customers have a a a a problem with the the software or if they need help explaining procedures I also provide practical support
for for ticket management for for those customers who have on-line support
contracts When I’m not doing the above I I manage all our company accounts sales purchase and nominal ledgers stock control banking and maintenance contracts How long have I been with Merlin:
Owen and and I I I founded the original company as an an an an an IT Consultancy in in September 1982 and and I I I have been with the company ever since We launched Merlin in in in June 1998 and I I have watched it develop from an an an Integrated Retail System System into a a a a a a a fully blown Venue Management System System encompassing every aspect in in in the life of a a a a a a a visitor attraction Hobbies and interests::
I I enjoy walking cycling swimming gardening and and visiting historic houses and and gardens I I also like classic cars baking foreign travel and and spending time with friends and and family Favourite food:

Being stuck in in in queuing traffic What is it like working for Merlin?
Interesting challenging and never boring Did you you learn anything about yourself during Lockdown?
I I realised that that I I was very adaptable and and that that the different phases and and restraints of lockdown didn’t cause me any problems If you you could go go anywhere in the world right now where where would you you go go and why?
